Chad was a single father, entrepreneur and former athlete.
Chad was a gentle giant with such a big heart. He was an amazing father, son, and friend. Chad played a special role in so many peoples lives and gave so much to those he loved.
[After] my son lost his life to gun violence, to keep his memory
alive, we decided to start this non-profit to help others in the community who also have been affected by gun violence, through
awareness, education, prevention, and athletics.
In remembrance
A Time To Be Born
Chadric Dion Henderson was born January 31, 1987, in Memphis, Tennessee to Calvin Henderson (who preceded him in death) and Vickie Johnson. Chad confessed his love to Jesus Christ at an early age at Zion CME Church.
A Time To Live
As a child, Chad's personality was one of a kind. He had a smile that was simply infectious and a heart that was made of gold. Throughout his amazing life Chad grew to love the sport of Basketball, in which he started playing at an early age. He graduated in 2005 from Sheffield High School, where he started varsity on the basketball team. Chad's basketball talents were out of this world, you just had to be there! From High school Chad went on to receive a full scholarship to Mineral Area college as well as Arkansas tech University, where he became a 2x championship winner. Not only was Chad a winner in basketball but also in academics as he went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Arkansas Tech in 2010. We all knew Chad as a humble, athletic, funny, and kindhearted young man. He was a gentle giant, always lending a hand to those around him. Chad was a stellar father of two and enjoyed every aspect of being a dad. Family was one of the most important things to Chad. Have you ever met someone that was good at almost anything? Chad was what we liked to call a Jack of All Trades. He was self-employed, owning his own lawn care service (Turf Care) and was also a barber. Chad was whatever you may have needed him to be. Chad was a GIVER. Chad was a WINNER. Chad was THE TRUTH.
A Time To Fly
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, Chad received his wings. Chad leaves to cherish his loving memory with his son Chadric Henderson Jr. and daughter Israel Perry-Henderson, Mother Vickie Johnson and Stepmother Sheila-Brown Henderson; Sisters Arberni Redmond and Quavisa Henderson-Bland (Eric).
